After 30 years of creating beloved childhood memories filled with our favourite characters and shows from Cartoon Network, it might be time to bid farewell to the Studio as we know and love.
Cartoon Network Studios will soon be merging with Warner Bros. Animation.
In a company-wide memo, CEO of Warner Bros. Television Studios, Channing Dungey, announced that the company plans to fully consolidate its tv animation divisions, merging Warner Bros. Animation (WBA) and Cartoon Network (CNS) alongside Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe.
According to the memo, all three labels will continue to exist but Cartoon Brew speculates that this might be a case of “more in name than in action” as CNS will no longer have any independent say on neither creative nor operational matters.
Brian Miller, former general manager of CNS had this to say after hearing the news:
VARIETY:
“Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe. Those three LABELS will continue to exist, but development and main production teams for Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios will now merge.”
