The long-awaited arrival of Galileo Open Air Theatre’s new drive-in cinema is finally here, kicking off at Spire Wine Farm this weekend.

Industries have faced many challenges due to coronavirus and entertainment is certainly no exception. One of the city’s most loved activities is the Galileo Open Air Theatre, luckily for us they have reinvented their offering and will now offer a drive-in option.

On Saturday, July 4 after much planning, Galileo will host their first of many drive-in cinema experiences.

“We’re bringing back the beloved drive-in, kicking off this Saturday at the magnificent Spier Wine Farm! With very stringent hygiene measures and COVID-friendly safety regulations in place, we’re devoted to keeping movie-goers safe and secure while providing an opportunity to have some much-needed fun,” said the team at Galileo.

You can look forward to the same Galileo experience you are accustomed to, plus a few extra measures to ensure safety during the new drive-in format.

Tickets are priced per car, per person and range from a minimum of R250 for a car with two people, to R450 for a car with six people – this is the maximum number of people allowed per car.

Those excited for the return of the drive-in can book tickets here and prepare to drive in, cuddle up and enjoy.
