With the amount of content available on streaming, it may seem difficult to figure out your next watch. One new TV series that has been receiving a lot of praise from critics and audiences alike is Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr.& Carolyn Bessette.
Based on the real-life relationship between the son of the US president and a publicist, the series premiered on 12 February, with weekly episode drops up to the finale, which aired on 26 March. The series is headed by Ryan Murphy, known for many successful shows, including:

His newest series, Love Story, is an incredibly well-done biographical drama, exploring the relationship between the two American icons, from their first meeting to their marriage to their untimely passing in July 1999.
This series exists as a period piece to the 90s, and everything from the costumes to the cinematography does an excellent job of creating an atmosphere that takes the viewer right back in time.
The chemistry between the two leads is very important to a show centred on a love story, and fortunately, the on-screen connection between Paul Anthony Kelly and Sarah Pidgeon is very compelling and believable. Kelly is a newcomer to the screen, and his performance as JFK. Jr is incredible, perfectly capturing the essence of the real-life figure. Kelly expressed in interviews that he studied a lot of Kennedy’s public appearances, from the way he moved to the cadence of his speech, and used it to craft his performance.

Sarah Pidgeon has a lot more work to her name, having previously appeared in The Wilds (2020) and I Know What You Did Last Summer. (2025) Pidgeon does an equally great job at portraying Carolyn Bessette, who had a lot fewer public appearances or interviews for Pidgeon to base her performance on. The actress delivers a nuanced performance, blending Bessette’s public persona with fictionalised internal conflict.
The show has received a lot of love on social media, with TikTok in particular creating a lot of buzz for the series. The series’ costume design has also inspired a micro-trend in real-life fashion, with TikTok users styling themselves after the fashionable couple.
