There are quite a number of things that make South Africa the uniquely lekker place that it is. Two of them are undoubtedly our selection of unofficial anthems, and the other – our signature dance moves.
One particular South African man has gone viral on TikTok after showing off his Kwaito-styled moves that not all of us could do so seemingly effortlessly.

Among the great anthemic South African hits like ‘Pata Pata’, ‘Weekend Special’, ‘Kaptein’, ‘Sister Bethina’ and the endless amount of yaadt mixes (let’s face it, there are simply too many to mention), lies Mandoza’s iconic ‘Nkalakhata’.
‘Nkalakhata’ was released in the year 2000, and for pretty self-explanatory reasons, it scooped up the Song of the Year award at the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) the following year.
Twenty-two years later, the song’s electronic beats and Mandoza’s husky voice still have South African bodies automatically grooving whenever the song comes on – exhibit A – Rojhey Herselman’s viral TikTok videos.

With over 4.4 million views combined, the videos got Mzansi talking with over 7 000 comments, mostly comprising praises for his dancing skills.
Many commenters went as for as approving his moves on behalf of Mandoza himself, saying he would be quite proud of Rojhey if he were here to see him.
One user commented: ‘Proudly South African ???’ with another replying ‘???Mzansi for sure’ as well as ‘He can keep the land he is us and we are him??’.
Others were rather impressed with certain aspects of his choreography.
Machele843 commented: ‘it’s the little leg throw for me ????.’
Ntobeko Cele wrote: ‘The kwasa kwasa at the beginning ??’ (referring to the soft jump and twerk) with Zy’Aire Zehra agreeing, saying: ‘he kwasa better than me ?.’
