The world-class Baxter Theatre Centre, a multicultural entertainment centre at the foot of UCT, provides the stage for various types of professional South African entertainment.
The theatre intends to reflect all aspects of South African culture and society and was famously open to everyone during apartheid.

Award-winning performers, Tankiso Mamablo and Daniel Mpilo Richards, invite you into a creative space created through two friends’ conversation and chemistry.
This is a funny and heartwarming show, with original music, that will take you on a journey through friendship, and the individual lives that make it up. The friends navigate pain, joy and love for an impossible career choice.

Firefly:
Theatre legends Andrew Buckland and Sylvaine Strike tell a passionate tale of love, betrayal, revenge, and desire.
Directed by Toni Morkel and accompanied by Tony Bentel on live piano, this is an unforgettable performance that will move, thrill and delight you.

The Unlikely Secret Agent:
Written and directed by award-winning actor and playwright, Paul du Toit, this story follows the young, single mother Eleanor who works at Griggs Bookstore when she is arrested and taken in for questioning.
Based on the award-winning book by Ronnie Kasrils and set in Durban, Eleanor is detained under the 90-day detention act. She is brutally interrogated as the police hunt for her lover, the notorious “terrorist”, Red Ronnie Kasrils.
This is a true story of bravery and hope in overwhelmingly despondent circumstances.

The Mzansi Tenors in Concert:
The Mzansi Tenors, founded by UCT lecturer Sipho Fubesi, were formed at the end of 2021, and are an exciting new development in the South African music scene.
The group is assisted by Rand Merchant Bank and music maestro Richard Cock.
Fubesi, blown away by his students’ talent, wanted to create an opportunity for them to perform regularly and earn an income. This is a proudly South African, handpicked tenor group that is ready to perform across the country, in all types of performances.

Unambitho Choristers Live in Cape Town:
Unambitho Choristers consists of 70 choristers with beautiful voices that powerfully fill a concert hall. Accompanied by mesmerising piano, their music is soothing and healing and an experience that will give you an elevated experience.
