The Emerging Artists Programme is an initiative designed to assist Cape Town-based emerging artists in gaining access to opportunities that will advance their careers.
The programme is divided into two areas of opportunity to provide local emerging visual artists from previously underprivileged circumstances with sustainable and structured development opportunities.
The exhibitions showcase local talent and create an opportunity for artists to sell work and gain experience and exposure. We exhibit through cultural spaces, creative institutions, and events such as First Thursdays, FAME Week Africa, and This is Art.
Emerging Artists Programme’s inaugural Open Call exhibition
The exhibition was curated by Joel Mamboka and Nusenu Prince Mawali, both graduates of the Emerging Artists Program. It featured 61 works by 36 young artists from Cape Town.
The exhibition is being moved to the Cape Town Central Library, situated at 1 Parade Street, Cape Town, from Tuesday, 6 December 2022, and will run until 13 January 2023.
