Kick off the Easter weekend with the multi-award-winning songstress, Judith Sephuma, tonight at the Silo District for the last of this season’s free Silo Concert series.
Silo Concerts, in partnership with Hendricks Gin, is an annual series of free music events showcasing local performers to the public and has quickly become a ‘must-do’ activity every first Friday of the month.
The concerts are held in front of the restaurants against the Zeitz MOCAA building, opposite Si Cantina Sociale.

Established in 2018, these memorable music events were brought to a halt as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. The 2022/23 season which began in November last year marked the return of the concert series since then.
The Waterfront’s Silo district has previously been graced with first-class performances by orchestras, Jazz and Kwela Bands, and performers such as Amanda Black and The Soil.
This season, visitors were serenaded by a varied concert line-up, beginning with a performance by the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and ending tonight with the soulful voice of Judith Sephuma.
Dubbed the queen of Afro Jazz and internationally acclaimed, Judith Sephuma is a versatile singer with multiple platinum-status selling albums across the genres of jazz, afro-soul and gospel.
Her triple platinum-status debut album, A Cry, A Smile, A Dance, was released in 2001 and she continues to dominate airwaves with her melodic, soft and sultry vocals.
Over the past two decades, she has performed for thousands of fans around the world, with sold-out shows taking her all over Europe, including the UK, and the USA.
Her most recent album entitled Power of Dreams was released in 2019 following what Judith described as a two-year journey of self-rediscovery which translates seamlessly into the lyrics and melody of her songs.
