Celebrate Garden Day at Boschendal

Celebrate Garden Day with us at beautiful Boshendal! We’re bringing you various ways to interact, learn, eat and play in our 11 acres of organically grown gardens. It is bound to be a fun day out for the whole family to enjoy.

We know that there’s always more to learn when it comes to creating and maintaining a healthy garden. That’s why we’ve asked a number of experts from across South Africa to join us in the Werf Food garden to share their knowledge and expertise. They will be explaining practices such as seed saving, rose pruning & composting as well as helpful guidelines for general plant care. 

Kids will be entertained by our Tree House team with raised bed learning and scavenger hunts in the garden. We believe in the power of education and that children should be equipped to be the agents of change in their own environments. That’s why we’ll also be showing the kids how to repurpose unwanted plastics and create beautiful bird feeders.

It won’t only be the kids who get a chance to play in the gardens this time. Get ready to mix your own botanical infused cocktails and taste our delicious farm fresh produce by creating your own garden harvested salads. We’ll also have an expert showing you how to create your own flower crowns and Christmas garlands, just in time for the festive season. 

Like-minded suppliers will be joining us to showcase their amazing plant-based products, offering the chance to purchase your choice of fynbos, roses, seeds, books and organic/biological products to use at home. 

Everyone is welcome and entry to the garden is free. The activities will be spread across our Werf Food Garden and herb garden. Collect your map from the welcome station so you’ll know where to find the stalls you’re looking for. The fun will start at 10am and we’ll be closing up at 2pm.
