The weather is quickly heating up and the outdoors is becoming more and more appealing. If you’re looking for another outdoor activitiy to add to your summer to-do list, look no further than Groot Constantia.

Go on the Visitors Route experience and take in the majestic sights, marvel at the architecture, and taste award winning wines. The Visitors Route begins at the original Manor House, which is an Iziko Museum, then moves to the Cloete Cellar, the original wine production cellar from 1791. If you like, you can add a Chocolate and Wine Pairing Experience. Thereafter, visitors will be taken to the modern Production Cellar, from which the free, self-guided audio Museum Tour, Cellar Tour, and Vineyard Tour will depart. In addition to wine tasting, the Groot Constantia wines are also available for purchase at the Cloete Cellar and the modern Production Cellar. Pre-booking for this experience is not necessary, but can be done here.

To top it all off, you can enjoy a delicious meal at one of two wonderful restaurants on the estate.

Bring the kids along, since Groot Constantia has been nominated as one of the best child-friendly wine estates in the Cape.

Entry into Groot Constantia is free. However, the Visitors Route experience costs R115 or R165 if you want to include the Chocolate and Wine pairing.
