An alarming rate of young girls in the CT area cannot afford the monthly cost of sanitary pads and this subsequently leads to many of the learners being absent in school.
With the upcoming final matric examinations, many young girls are at risk of missing the exams, due to period poverty and their inability to secure sanitary pads as needed.
The objective of this campaign, is to address the issue of period poverty within Cape Town communities and further, to ensure that menstruation does not become a barrier to education.
The Foundation is asking locals to get involved by donating or sponsoring the purchase of essential sanitary pads.
