Watch:
He has partnered with Barefoot No More™, a non-profit organisation based in South Africa that supplies school shoes to children living in rural areas. These shoes are crafted using recycled plastic and possess unique qualities. They are soft, provide a comfortable experience similar to wearing Crocs, and are designed to absorb shocks, stretch to accommodate growing feet without sacrificing comfort, and eliminate the risk of blisters. They are also waterproof and washable.
Armed with unwavering resilience and determination, Vusi started his 3000km journey on 13 April 2023, cycling from Musina in Limpopo to Cape Town. He is pedalling his way through villages, towns and cities, while spreading awareness about the need for adequate school shoes among underprivileged children. His journey is scheduled to end at Green Point Stadium in Cape Town on 23 May 2023.
Vusi’s cause has been an inspiration to many and has sparked support from individuals, communities and organisations alike.
A total of 1 118 pairs of school shoes have been donated so far. Follow Vusi’s journey and support his quest of raising 10 000 pairs of school shoes here.
