The Cape Town Carnival is set to celebrate its 15th year, returning in March 2025 at Green Point’s Fanwalk, and will feature the iconic DHL Stormers, Cape {town} Etc reports.
On Saturday, 15 March 2025, the Fanwalk will come alive with music, colour and performers from all walks of life.
Dancers, acrobats, firefighters, and roller skaters are set to dazzle the crowds and will include Cape Town’s favourite rugby team.
‘We look forward to participating in and supporting such a wonderful Cape Town initiative,’ said John Dobson, Director of rugby at the DHL Stormers.
‘The Cape Town Carnival has become a highlight in the city’s calendar and aligns perfectly with our objective of making Cape Town smile. We cannot wait to see our fans cheering us on at an event that promises to offer an amazing night of entertainment,’ Dobson added.
The DHL Stormers will take to the fanwalk on a dedicated ‘Taking the Cape by Storm’ float with a unique soundtrack, with Carnival attendees having a chance to see their heroes up close as the float makes its way down the Fanwalk.
‘As a proud Capetonian, I know how much the Carnival means to the City, so we cannot wait to be part of the 15th anniversary,’ said Dan du Plessis, Captain of the DHL Stormers team.
‘Some of the guys in the squad have already started practising their moves and are excited to show them off to everyone when we hit the Fanwalk next year,’ Du Plessis added.
‘We are so delighted that the DHL Stormers will be joining us and bringing their gees to this iconic Cape Town event,’ said Prof Rachel Jafta, Cape Town Carnival Board chair.
‘The 2025 carnival will include some special guests that promise to make this carnival bigger and better than ever, and we look forward to welcoming Capetonians, South Africans and all visiting tourists to this fabulous celebration of art, community and entertainment,’ Jafta added.
