Step right up, Cape Town – the circus is back in town! And this time, you’ll need to buckle up for the ride. From 27 May, for two weekends only, catch the dynamic circus show VOOMA!, featuring young Zip Zap Circus School performers.

Relive a childhood memory, bring your family or a special date and let the performers take you on a wild ride of excitement and wonder.

For more than three decades, Zip Zap has used the circus for social and professional upliftment, nurturing new talent and giving youngsters the opportunity to dream.

With aspiring young performers from all walks of life, VOOMA! cast members are participants in Zip Zap’s Zappers and Dare2Dream programmes, giving these up-and-coming local stars a stage to shine on.

The show combines acrobatics, juggling, mind-blowing stunts and dazzling sing-along performances that are entertaining for adults and kids alike.

But the show is not just about entertainment. It is also about supporting young talent from all walks of life.

VOOMA! performers come from areas such as Kenilworth to Khayelitsha, Nyanga to Newlands, Phillipi to Pinelands, Makhaza to Mitchell’s Plain, and they’ll be performing alongside their ‘older brothers and sisters’ who have just returned from France after a three-month tour with Zip Zap’s professional philharmonic production, Rhapsody.

Plus, food and drinks at the circus are sorted, too. Behind the auditorium-style seating, there are a range of food stalls selling everything from chips and chocolates to boerie rolls and drinks, plus wine and beer.

And if you want a memento from your magical experience, take a piece of Zip Zap home with you. There’s a merchandise stall behind the seating area where you’ll find T-shirts, hoodies, and even juggling balls and kids’ books.

Watching the VOOMA! circus show is an experience that you won’t want to miss. It’s a perfect family-friendly activity that’s sure to leave you breathless and exhilarated.
