International Pinotage Day at Lanzerac Wine Estate

This year, on 13 October 2018, Lanzerac Wine Estate invites Pinotage lovers to spend the day exploring this proudly South African varietal through the Estate’s three Pinotage wines, whilst enjoying the relaxing atmosphere in the Estate’s Tasting Room and Deli Courtyard.
Guests can look forward to enjoying an array of delicious food offerings beneath the leafy oak trees, including Pinotage-glazed lamb burgers, smoked Pinotage BBQ beef tacos, Pinotage-cured biltong (South African cured beef) from the Lanzerac biltong counter, fresh oysters that pair beautifully with the Lanzerac Premium Pinotage Rosé as well as a variety of freshly baked cakes and desserts.
Chef Stephen Fraser’s Pinotage Meat Platters are the perfect option for those wishing to share, boasting a myriad of delicious meats, including fired lamb tails, pork ribs, slow cooked brisket and boerewors bites with Pinotage BBQ sauce and apricot aioli. Cheese burgers and mini boerewors rolls are available for children.
The wine station set up in the courtyard will ensure that guests are able to savour their favourite Lanzerac wine, whilst enjoying live music from the dynamic musical duo, Acoustic Element.
For the ultimate wine experience, two private Pinotage tastings will be hosted by Lanzerac Cellar Master, Wynand Lategan, showcasing the many flavours that complement the unique characteristics of a Pinotage wine.
These tastings will take place from 09.30 to 10.30 and 12.30 to 13.30 at R150 per person per tasting session and will consist of a maximum of 15 guests per session.
The Lanzerac Secret Tasting, also hosted by Cellar Master Wynand Lategan, invites guests to a mystery tasting that is sure to delight those with a more discerning palate.
Details of this exclusive tasting will be shared with the participants the day before. The Lanzerac Secret Tasting will take place between 11.00 and 12.00 at R200 per person.
