Get ready to light up your life! The third edition of the spectacular annual Spier Light Art show will take place from 19 March to 18 April 2021. As part of the show, visitors will have the chance to experience an array of mesmerising light, sound and video artworks throughout the Spier Wine Farm.

Take a look at what you can expect from the event below:

The Spire Light Art show will feature a number of different exhibitions, including ‘LUME’ by Egbert Westra, which is an interactive installation where visitors can use their cell phone’s flashlight to create images on a phosphorescent screen alongside Lucy, a light painting robot.

Visitors will also be treated to a movie called ‘UMDIYDIYA’ by artist Wezile Mgibe, in which he reflects back on past experiences in welcoming and unwelcoming spaces and celebrates the unbreakable connections between loved ones.

Best of all, the experience is free; however, visitors will need to reserve a timeslot to ensure compliance with COVID-19 safety protocols and government restrictions. You can reserve your time slot by clicking here.

If you’re looking to make the most out of the exhibition, Spier Wine Farm is offering a special ‘Light art stayover package’, which allows guests to stay overnight at the estate for just R1100 Per person per night. The package also includes a delicious sunset picnic and breakfast.
