LUMENOCITY, Africa’s first festival of light, is taking place in Cape Town from 9-12 April. LUMENOCITY has officially announced that it will be partnering with MINI South Africa for the upcoming event, Cape {town} Etc reports.
The interactive light festival will use technology, art, and imaginative storytelling to change Cape Town’s public areas. The festival, which unites South African designers, artists and digital producers, highlights the potential of light as a medium and is set to place Cape Town among the world’s top light festivals.
The festival will take place at the Company’s Garden, inspired by well-known global light festivals like Fête des Lumières, the Amsterdam Light Festival, and Vivid Sydney, where light art creates immersive cultural experiences in metropolitan settings.
LUMENOCITY founder, Gareth Hadden, stated, ‘LUMENOCITY is about bringing creativity, technology and public space together in ways that surprise and inspire.‘
