March in the Name of Elephants and Rhinos

April 6 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

FREE
Motivated by the astronomical decrease in South African wildlife numbers, in conjunction with shocking animal trading policies in South Africa, this event calls on all locals to march on behalf of the voiceless on Saturday April 6.
As the natural and wild world grows increasingly under threat from all quarters, voices need to grow ever louder and carry a message to the ears of decision-makers and leaders worldwide.
The event stands for stronger measures to protect South Africa’s animals, and to preserve the remaining wild world and the biodiversity it depends on. Marchers will head to parliament and hand over a memorandum outlining demands for the protection of all wildlife. Animal activists will return from parliament to 10 Darling Street.
Effective change begins with education. At the same time as the march, Voices For African Wildlife will be taking children to the Drakenstein Lion Park, to learn about wildlife and see how they have been saved from the unscrupulous.
There will be a hayride available for those with mobility and/or health difficulties. All children are welcome.
Though the event does not encourage canine companions, if you do bring your dog(s), kindly ensure that they are on a lead and be sure to bring water and poop bags. If the ground is too hot, furry friends must use the hayride with their human.
