Cheese and wine — there’s no better combination. The cheese lines your stomach to taste all the wine, and the wine makes you want to eat all the cheese. It’s what Capetonians are made for!
There’s no better way to celebrate the classic pairing than at the South African Cheese Festival, which has finally returned after years! That’s two extra years for the vino and cheese to age. So, you can bet your bottom dollar that it’s going to be a delicious experience.
It’s all going down on:
- Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 April at Groote Post outside Darling
- Saturday 30 April, Sunday 1 May and Monday 2 May, next to the beautiful dams at Sandringham outside Stellenbosch
The event is in essence a celebration of local craftsmanship. It brings together some of the best cheese and wine makers the country has to offer. But that’s not all. A variety of exhibitors will offer local, international, and artisanal cheeses, selected wines, craft beer and gin, as well as exceptional artisanal foods and local products to taste and buy. Festival goers can also look forward to free entertainment programmes with top South African artists, interactive tasting experiences with well-known chefs and other interesting activities.
