The fourth annual Paws on the Promenadea fundraiser in support of the Mdzananda Animal Clinic in Khayelitsha, takes place on Sunday March 17. Join in as pets and owners walk along the Sea Point promenade to raise money for the foundation.

The Mdzananda Animal Clinic is a NPO located in Khayelitsha. The clinic serves an average of 700 animals per month through consultations, hospitalisation, surgeries, sterilizations, mobile clinics, and an animal ambulance. Mdzananda has a strong focus on community empowerment and education to ensure responsible pet ownership into the future.

Join in as pets and owners walk along the Sea Point promenade to raise money for the animal clinic. The walk starts at the Mouille Point lighthouse at 09:00 am. The entire route is a total of five kilometers, extending to the Sea Point swimming pool and back. Shorter turnaround points for old, tired, and injured pets (or people) will also be available.

Pet or no pet, everyone is invited to walk and raise money for the cause. A number of dogs that are up for adoption will also be available to walk with you. You can book to “rent a pet” by emailing [email protected]

The event is hosted in partnership with Vondi’s Holistic Pet nutrition. They will be sponsoring 200 goodie bags for the first 200 dogs to arrive on the day. Raffle prizes and products will be for sale and coffee and ice cream will be available for purchase. Dress up like your favourite animal or wear something orange.

Tickets cost R50 per person, R50 per dog, and R25 for kids under 12. These are available for purchase from Quicket at www.qkt.io/pawsonprom2019, on the day from 8am, or from the Vondi’s pet shop at 59 Regent Road, Sea Point.
