Support a good cause at the 17th annual Penguin Festival in Simon’s Town. The Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) throws the festival every year to celebrate and raise awareness for the endangered African penguin species.

The event will begin at Seaforth Beach, where members of the public can watch as SANCCOB release the rehabilitated African penguins back into the wild. Following this, crowds will move to Simon’s Town School for the festival. Families can enjoy a host of fun activities such as rides, educational exhibits and food vendors. A Kids Zone will be available for your little ones. Grown ups can visit the craft beer and wine area.

All proceeds of the event go towards supporting SANCCOB’s year-round conservation work on African penguins and seabirds.
