The action gets underway at 4pm on Saturday, with a place in the grand final at stake and a big crowd expected.
There will be heavy traffic congestion in the area, and spectators are urged to plan to get to DHL Stadium at least two hours before kick-off.
Spectators are also encouraged to park remotely and catch a free MyCiTi bus from either the CTICC or Civic Centre and Thibault Square bus stations to get to DHL Stadium early and ensure they don’t miss anything.
Fritz Sonnenberg Road, Vlei Road, Stephan Way and Fort Wynyard Street will all be closed from 6am until 10:30pm, with restrictions on Helen Suzman Boulevard, Beach Road, Buitengracht Road and Granger Bay Boulevard.
Event organisers suggest that those using e-hailing are dropped off and collected in the CBD on DF Malan Drive opposite the Artscape Theatre, Hertzog Boulevard or Jan Smuts Street, and then use the MyCiTi shuttle, which is free to all event ticket holders, from the CTICC Civic Centre Station or Thibault Square Station, or alternatively use the Fan Walk.
There will also be an e-hailing drop-off area on Helen Suzman Boulevard between Vlei Road and Beach Road on both sides, but spectators are warned that drop-and-go and pick-up around the stadium will have very long delays due to traffic congestion.
While the DHL Stormers are still on track to defend their Vodacom United Rugby Championship (URC) title, plenty of work lies ahead for the Cape Town-based team, which will go into this weekend’s semi-final cautiously optimistic about retaining the silverware.
Two victories still stand between them and claiming the spoils, starting with their outing against Connacht on Saturday afternoon.
