Tim Kliphuis and his trio will be performing with the Cape Town Philharmonic on September 27, 2019. They will launch their CD at the same time and copies will be on sale at the concert at the Cape Town City Hall.

Kliphuis’s unique style more Grapelli than Grapelli has enchanted audiences around the world through live performance as well as through their recordings.

The CPO collaboration will begin with Sheba’s Tiger, a Kliphuis combination of classical and jazz, a crossover piece which acts as a short introduction to the rest of the programme. Following this audience favourite will be Kliphuis’s arrangement of a Bach/Brandenburg suite then his Violin Concerto, “Ulysses”, commissioned by the Omsk Philharmonic in Russia in 2016, and recorded last year with the CPO.
