The Tygermade Homegrown Expo, which will focus on authentic, homegrown finds, takes place from June 28 to 30 at Tygervalley Shopping Centre this year. Be sure not to miss this exciting, one-of-a-kind event. Whilst the product range is broad, they are all made with pride and from the heart, lovingly displayed and sold by the business owner.

There will be something for everyone – from handmade ceramics to bespoke baby rooms, custom-made furniture to handcrafted macramé, the expo promises to offer visitors the opportunity to get to know and support local design and crafts, plus, it is a lovely way to stimulate the economy.

The Expo will also offer experiences such as workshops and one-on-one demonstrations. There will be a variety of workshops on offer, covering screen printing, terrariums, macramé and concrete tiles. Visitors will further be given the opportunity to get assistance from the experts in one-on-one sessions.

A knit-a-thon will form part of the activities, with monies raised donated to selected non-profit organisations. Those who’d like to participate are welcome to contact [email protected]. Not only will you be doing your part for the community, but knitting can lower heart rate and blood pressure. To top it off, it will result in a tangible and useful product that will be of benefit to others.

For those interested in starting their very own art collection, Art Treasures will feature well-known artists including Fanie Scholtz, Hennie Meyer, Hugo de Villiers, John Bauer, Mervyn Gers Ceramics, Milan Cronje, Ronnie van der Walt, Theo Kleynhans and Theo Paul Vorster.

The Expo will be open Friday to Saturday from 9am to 7pm, and on Sunday from 9am to 6pm. Entry is free.
