Open Streets is returning to Bellville for a day on Sunday, 25 November. This is your opportunity to experience the rare joy of frolicking in the streets without fear of cars. Hit the road with neighbours, friends and family and walk, skate, play, cycle, and dance through the streets at your leisure.

The Greater Tygerberg Partnership joined forces with Open Streets as part of its strategy to build a connected community in Bellville. The streets will be ‘opened’ this year by Cape Town’s Executive Mayor, Dan Plato.

Cape Town’s favourite rapper Youngsta CPT will be performing for the crowd, and the Bellville Market on the Teddington Walkway in Bellville’s CBD will be open and buzzing.

Some of the many activities and attractions you’ll find on the day include five-a-side soccer tournaments, street art, music, food, dancing, and face-painting.

Voortrekker Road will be closed to cars between Durban Road and Robert Sobukwe Road, and open to pedestrians and playmakers from 9am to 2pm.
