18-year-old Olivia Sieff lost her life after allegedly being hit by a car outside one of Claremont’s popular nightclubs, Tin Roof, on Saturday, 29 January.
Sieff, who is said to be signed with Boss Models, had reportedly been enjoying a night out with her friends, laughing and talking with those around her before deciding to head home. Friends are said to have witnessed the entire incident that led to Sieff’s death and are traumatised as a result.

According to News24, a 33-year-old woman made an appearance in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court today after she was arrested for the hit-and-run which killed Sieff.
Vispol Head of Claremont Police Station, Lieutenant Colonel Marnus Fourie, confirmed that officers responded to the scene following a complaint where they found the 18-year-old Sieff dead on the Main Road.
Provincial police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said the driver of the vehicle who knocked Olivia fled the scene and a case of culpable homicide was opened, reports IOL.
Of tracking the suspect, Fourie said local CCTV footage was obtained, and further expressed that: “The car that was involved was identified and on Tuesday 1 February, the vehicle was traced. The driver was arrested and detained at Claremont Police Station as a suspect. The arrest was made in a joint co-operation between Claremont detectives and City of Cape Town Law Enforcement members.”
The vehicle was seized for a forensic analysis to be done and on Thursday, 3 February, the woman had been charged by the court for culpable homicide and fleeing from the scene of the accident (hit and run).
We extend our greatest sympathies to the friends and family of Miss Sieff.
