Hearts are broken and tributes have been pouring in after Cape Town singer-songwriter and guitarist, Justen Hosken, passed away on Thursday, 10 March.
Hosken, who was known for his incredible musical talent as the lead singer of Rabbit Black, is believed to have succumbed to his injuries following a horrific crash a week ago on 2 March. His wife, Lee-Ann Hosken was also involved in the serious accident.
After the accident, she took to Facebook to explain that “Justen has undergone major life-saving surgery… We do not have any indication at this time regarding how long he will still be in the hospital”.
She went on to say that they have huge medical bills due to hospitalisation and surgical costs, and established a fund to assist with their financial needs. This was shared widely on social media and many bands and musicians came together to help support the couple.
Since then, images of Hosken have flooded the social media spheres as many expressed their heartfelt condolences, while keeping Hosken’s family in their thoughts during this difficult time.

All I can say is what a privilege it was to have known you and to have worked with you for these last few years. My heart breaks for your darling wife, your family and friends and band members. Rest easy, in peace, surrounded by the most beautiful sounds Heaven has to offer. You are missed already Justen Hosken.”
