A luxury Bishopscourt home in Cape Town has hit the market for R189 million, putting one of the city’s most exclusive suburbs in the spotlight, reports Cape {town} Etc.
According to BusinessTech, the asking price places the property among the country’s priciest residential listings. For buyers using a traditional 20-year bond, the figures are eye-watering.
The property includes:

- Spa
- Gym
- Wine cellar
- Padel court
- Heated rim-flow pool
Monthly repayments would come to about R1.89 million, before rates and taxes of roughly R18 315. Over the full loan term, the total would exceed R452.8 million.
Bishopscourt, set on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain, has long carried a reputation for privacy, space and prestige. The suburb is known for large homes, leafy streets and prominent residents. It is also home to fewer than 300 substantial family homes, which helps keep demand high.
Seeff Property Group lead agent Francois Venter said prices in the area keep climbing. He noted that Bishopscourt homes are selling for an average of R30 million, up sharply from about R11 million in 2020.
Pam Golding Properties described the seven-bedroom residence as a home with ‘exceptional proportions’ and ‘breathtaking views’ of the mountains.
