Joshlin was in the care of Appolis when her mother went to work that day.
In a video interview with eNCA, Appolis said that Joshlin told him she was going to go play with her friends at 2pm, but by 6pm, she still hadn’t returned home.
‘She told me she was going to play with a friend. That is the last time I saw her. I am really, really honest,’ he said.
He went on to say, ‘Since day one, I have told the officers when they questioned me that it is not me.’
Joshlin Smith was first reported missing on Tuesday, 20 February 2024, and a reward upwards to R100 000 has been offered to anyone with information regarding her disappearance.
