A well-developed cold front is expected to make landfall over parts of the Western Cape from Sunday afternoon, bringing a spell of disruptive weather that could linger into the early days of next week.
Forecasters warn that the approaching system is likely to deliver a combination of heavy rainfall, strong winds and rough sea conditions, prompting calls for heightened caution across coastal and inland communities.
Details carried by Cape Town News indicate that rainfall totals could reach up to 40mm in certain areas, while wind speeds may intensify to around 90km/h, particularly along exposed coastal stretches.
The incoming system is expected to usher in a noticeable drop in temperatures, with cold and wet conditions forecast to persist for several days.
Authorities have cautioned residents to remain vigilant, especially in low-lying areas where localised flooding could occur.
