The country can expect Stage 4 loadshedding to continue throughout Thursday, extending into Friday as well. There is a possibility that Saturday morning will see lower levels of loadshedding if all goes well.
The power utility says it is working around the clock to restore units to service. However, due to a further shortage in generation capacity resulting from unit breakdowns each in Kendal and Majuba this morning, in conjunction with planned maintenance, the implementation of loadshedding is a necessary measure to replenish emergency generation reserves.
