Update:
Residents and motorists in the Breede Valley and Witzenberg regions are advised to heed a Level 5 warning of disruptive snowfall issued by the South African Weather Services (SAWS).
Significant traffic disruptions are anticipated due to the high likelihood of snow and ice accumulation on roads, particularly in and around Touwsrivier and De Doorns.
In response to these conditions, Breede Valley Municipality (BVM) is actively engaging with strategic stakeholders to discuss the potential closure of a section of the N1 highway between De Doorns and Beaufort West. This measure aims to reduce the risk of accidents and emergency situations.
This situation is developing, and further information will be provided as it becomes available. In the meantime, residents and travelers are urged to avoid the affected areas and adjust their travel plans accordingly to ensure safety.
The South African weather services has warned of disruptive snowfall in areas of the Western and Northern Cape.
As such, a level 4 warning for snow has been issued for Monday, 30 September Cape {town} Etc reports.

Disruptive snowfall is to be expected over the Cape Winelands, Central and Little Karoo mountains of the Western Cape.
The southern high ground of the Namakwa District will also be affected by the hazardous snowfall.
Closure of the Swartberg, Hex River, Ouberg and Katbakkies mountain passes are likely.
Snowfall accumulation amounting to 5-15cm is expected.
The SAWS has warned that expected impacts may include the loss of vulnerable livestock, hypothermia, the closure of mountain passes, disruptions to traffic and disruption to services.
