After a weekend with little loadshedding, and the past three days of no loadshedding for City of Cape Town customers, our electricity-filled days are phasing out again.
Eskom has announced that the country can expect stage 2 to continue into Thursday after being implemented at 4pm today, before being reduced to stage 1 on Friday.

Eskom explains that these changes in schedule come due to a persistent shortage of generation capacity.

They are attempting to limit the loadshedding to night-time, in an attempt to affect the country’s economy and population as little as possible.
This week, generation units at Camden, Kriel, Kusile, Matla and Medupi power stations were returned to service, with two generating units at Majuba and one at Tutuka power stations being taken offline for repairs.
