You’re sitting at your desk working away. The pile of paperwork gets higher, the phone doesn’t stop ringing and the emails keep rolling in. Sometimes its hard to find the time to make a filling lunch at the office. This is where our favourite CBD street vendors come in. Heroes in disguise if you will, always ready to make our stomachs smile before we have to dash back into the office.

HEMAZING FOOD TRUCK

The best part about Cape Town is its diversity, not only with people but in the food too. The Hemazing food truck first operated as a company that catered Indian cuisine for events. Now, it’s transformed into a food truck that moves around Cape Town, offering mostly Indian foods on its menu.

You’ll enjoy butter chicken nachos, curry bowls and so much more. You can catch Hemazing at First Thursdays in the CBD and at the Watershed market at the V&A Waterfront.

Lotus serves contemporary Asian street food such as insane ramen bowls, beef shirt rib, delicious salads, juicy satay’s and more. You can also cool down with a wide range of homemade iced teas. The coolest part is that everything made in the Lotus food truck is made from scratch, dressing, dipping sauces, you name it.

CRUMBS AND CREAM, V&A WATERFRONT

When the sweet treat craving hits at work, there’s no stopping it. We need sugar to release our creative juices, or is that just an excuse to stock a massive sweet jar at the office? Crumbs and Cream at the V&A Waterfront is perfect for when you’re in need of something sweet on a hot summer day.

Grab an ice-cream sandwich: a giant cookie stuffed with your favourite flavour ice-cream and then topped with sprinkles of your choice. You can also try a cookie-shake or an ice coffee if you’re not in the mood for extra sugar.
