#HighburyHearsYou – we at Cape Town Etc are passionate about getting local restaurants back and booming in business. As part of our #HighburyHearsYou initiative, we’re dishing out the deets on some incredible restaurants in and around town.

Massimo’s restaurant has been voted best pizzeria in Africa by the Italian “Oscars of Pizzas”. Owner and chef – you guessed it – Massimo grew up on a farm in northern Italy, where he and his family raised their own chickens, grew their own vegetables, and fell in love with family-style food.

With an emphasis on and appreciation for fresh produce, guests are always guaranteed an authentic Italian meal at this little haven in Hout Bay.

Massimo also caters for those more COVID-conscious, with frozen pizzas, melanzane parmigiana, lasagne, and desserts all on offer to take home.

Massimo’s doesn’t stop with good food alone but has continued to support a good charity as well.  For every frozen pizza sold, the restaurant donates R1 to DARG (Domestic Animal Rescue Group).

In addition, for every Luna pizza (bacon, feta & avo) ordered by those dining in the restaurant, a donation of R5 goes to the animal welfare organisation.

The restaurant has their own #PayitForward campaign, where clients can buy pizzas which are then gifted to those in need.

Massimo’s is pet-friendly, offering furry friends their very own menu. Make this a family affair all while enjoying a long list of wonderful things – from live music, to award-winning pizza, to helping those in need. Bon Appétit!
