Latin cuisine is alive and well in the Mother City, particularly since Orinoco opened its doors on the corner of Bree and Prestwich.

Orinoco wouldn’t be out of place in Caracas – strong Latin influences with the inside both homely and rustic. The restaurant and deli was opened by Venezuelan-born Chef Migdalia Bellorin and, man, has she worked magic here.

Think Latin American street food meets gourmet Cape Town. We visited Orinoco for their exciting lunch menu, which boasts familiar Latin favourites like fajitas, quesadillas and burritos. More lunchtime options include Argentine empanadas, gourmet sandwiches and some really interesting salads. Take a look at their menu here. I was blown away by how fresh and tasty the food was – certainly one of our new favourite lunch spots!
