Happy World Vegan Day to all from us here at Cape {town} Etc! As is tradition, we are here to alert you that excitement is at the door in the Mother City.
Cape Town’s catalogue of dining options caters for all dietary requirements, with plant-based eateries becoming more and more popular each year.
The city keeps winning with an array of vegan spots sprouting to provide healthy options full of nourishment.
One awesome spot to try is Infinite Café Plant-Powered Kitchen located in The Waalford Centre of Cape Town’s CBD on Commercial Street.
The restaurant is redefining plant-based meals, and if you haven’t already tried them it’s time to indulge in tasty delights, whether you’re a plant-based enthusiast or a meat-lover.

Infinite Café serves drinks, meals, pastries and desserts. All delicious and completely plant-based.
More good news is that the establishment is launching a new grab-and-go menu for the busy metro folk.
Grab & Go is the latest addition to Infinite Café’s menu. A selection specially made for the busy bees who need to snack on the go.
Here’s the 411 on the Grab & Go menu:
Chef Judith Yolanda Africa was part of the team that made this delicious menu a reality.
Chef Africa loves all the dishes on the menu but when compelled to choose these two dishes are her faves:
1. Vegan Savoury Mince and Egg sandwich
This tasty sandwich is a mix of flavours with lentil mince spiced with paprika, chilli flakes, garlic and a tomato-based sauce.
It is then topped up with egg (a plant-based version made from mung beans) topped with tomato salsa and coriander.
The skilful combination of legumes, spices and Infinite Café’s stellar kitchen makes this meal beyond palatable.
2. Cheesy Vegan Meatball Sub
The Frech loaf option (also the chef’s favourite) will nourish you and send you on your merry way.
The sub is packed with fancy Beyond Meatballs and laced with a homemade marinara sauce with the topping of flavoursome dairy-free mozzarella cheese, for that finishing touch of cheesy goodness.
As for the rest of the menu, we can assure you they’re just as wholesome:
3. Chakalaka Hotdog
Did we mention that Infinite Café is the place for a light lunch that hits the spot and leaves you truly satisfied?
How about a tasty dog vegan with a local flair?
A bite of the chakalaka hotdog means indulging in the Beyond Sausage OG sprinkled with a chakalaka relish all Saffas know and love.
This is a definite yes for the tastebuds and a happy full stomach.
4. Breakfast Wrap
Burrito fans are not left out, Infine Café’s Grab & Go Menu has covered all the bases.
This breakfast wrap consists of mung bean eggs, a vegan sausage patty –spicey or classic, spinach, fried mushroom, dairy-free mayo and Cheddar cheese.
The milk alternatives in this wrap are beyond believable.
5. Lentil Roast Veg Salad
Warmer days are when light meals like salads become the ultimate treat.
Your palate will thank you for this version. The Beyond Meatballs are cooked to perfection with the right combination of seasoning.
Couple that with spiced lentils and roasted veggies with confit cherry tomatoes served with Infinite Cafe’s house seasoning – scrumptious!
6. Vegan Mince Curry and Roti
Last, but most certainly not least is a Mother City classic and ‒ the mighty and majestic mince curry salomie (the vegan version of course).
A flaky plant-based butter roti filled with Beyond Mince curry and potatoes seasoned with the finest of all the essential Cape Malay spices one would find in their aunty’s cupboard.
One bite and a blink later, you’ll be wishing you ordered two.
But do not take our word for it. As soon as the menu launches order your tasty goodies online. Better still, walk in and take in the café’s serene environment.
The team here is more than hospitable, and the wall art oozes Zen. Take a moment and have an Insta moment by the restaurant’s ‘selfie wall.’
