World famous coffeehouse chain Starbucks will open eight more locations across South Africa, and six will be right here in the Mother City.

The stores will open in shifts from November 19 until mid-December. Cape Town-based locations include Canal Walk, Cavendish Square, Stellenbosch, Tyger Valley Shopping Centre, the V& A Waterfront and Camps Bay, reports Business Tech.

The remaining two locations are at Castle Gate Mall in Pretoria and Rosebank, Johannesburg.

These new locations will join the current 16 Starbucks stores, most of which are concentrated in Gauteng.

Custodian of Starbucks in Southern Africa, and owner and chief executive of Rand Capital Coffee Adrian Maizey, says this investment in South Africa will lead to significant employment opportunities. By the end of 2020, the company plans to increase the number of permanent employees to 300.
