Build your breakfast at Bootleggers. The franchise offers a plain three-egg omelette with toast for R48, with the option of adding on extras like bacon, avo, mushrooms and more for an additional fee. You can also opt for a plain croissant for R35 and add whatever extras you would like if you’re in a splurging mood.

Arnolds Restaurant
Arnolds on Kloof Street offers a breakfast special for early risers from 6:45am to 9am daily. If that’s a bit too early, opt for the all-day breakfast lite option, which feeds you scrambled eggs on an English muffin slice, drizzled with basil pesto, for R48.

For the sweet tooth, R38 gets you a scrumptiously sweet croissant and R40 gets you a pain au chocolat. For an extra R17, you could add some vanilla and strawberry or gooseberry jam for a little more oomph. Otherwise, put your R41 towards a gluten-free blueberry and banana muffin with carrot, apple, flax, quinoa, pecans and sunflower seeds.
