There are plenty of ways to spend a morning in Cape Town, but moving between yoga, a sauna and an ice-cold plunge while keeping track of how your body responds is certainly one of the more memorable.
That was my experience at One Flow Yoga & Wellness Social Club, where wellness feels less like another item on your to-do list and more like a lifestyle.
I was invited to experience One Flow as part of the launch of the Garmin CIRQA Smart Band, and the setting couldn’t have been more fitting. As wellness becomes increasingly focused on understanding our bodies, recovery and how we actually feel, rather than simply working harder, technology is becoming part of that conversation too.
More than just yoga
Walking into One Flow, it’s immediately clear that this isn’t your typical yoga studio.

The wellness club in Cape Town brings together movement, fitness, recovery and social connection, creating a space where you can work out, wind down and spend time with people in between.
My experience began with movement, getting into the rhythm of a yoga session before moving into the club’s recovery-focused spaces.
And then came the cold plunge.
Taking the plunge
I’ll admit that I wasn’t particularly excited about the idea of voluntarily getting into very cold water.

Cold plunging has become one of the biggest wellness trends in recent years, but knowing that and actually lowering yourself into the water are two very different things.
The first few seconds are a shock. Then comes the challenge of controlling your breathing and staying present rather than immediately thinking about getting out.
Once you’re through that initial reaction, though, there’s an undeniable sense of accomplishment. It’s uncomfortable, but that’s arguably part of the appeal.
From ice cold to seriously hot
The sauna offered the perfect contrast.
After the cold plunge, stepping into the heat felt almost luxurious. It was a chance to slow down, breathe and let my body settle.
One Flow’s Wellzone combines recovery experiences including sauna, cold plunges and red-light therapy, creating a space dedicated to the other side of exercise: recovery.
And that is what really stood out to me about One Flow.
It’s not simply about doing more. It’s about finding a balance between movement, recovery and wellbeing.
Where Garmin CIRQA Smart Band fits in
The Garmin CIRQA Smart Band became more than just a piece of technology during the One Flow experience. Wearing it throughout the morning offered a different way of looking at wellness, one that goes beyond simply counting steps or tracking a workout.
Designed to keep tabs on key aspects of your daily wellbeing and very importantly, your sleep, the smart band brings activity and health tracking into something compact and easy to wear. From monitoring movement and activity to giving you a better picture of how your body is responding throughout the day and while you sleep, it is designed to make the information around your wellbeing more accessible.
That felt particularly relevant at One Flow. After moving through yoga, the cold plunge and sauna, the focus wasn’t just on how much exercise I’d managed to squeeze into the morning, but on the bigger picture of activity, recovery and how I was feeling.
The appeal is that the Garmin CIRQA isn’t necessarily about telling you to push harder. Instead, it gives you information that can help you become more aware of your habits and make smarter choices around movement and recovery.
Wellness, but make it social

And perhaps that’s where the Garmin CIRQA fits particularly well into the One Flow experience. Wellness here isn’t something you have to do alone, in front of a screen or with your eyes fixed on a fitness target.
The club creates an environment where you can take a yoga class with friends, grab something to eat, challenge yourself to a cold plunge and then unwind in the sauna, while the Garmin CIRQA quietly keeps track of what your body is doing along the way.
It makes wellness feel less like a numbers game and more like a conversation. How active have I been? How am I recovering? Am I getting enough rest? And, perhaps most importantly, how do I actually feel?
That combination of social connection, movement, recovery and technology is what made the Garmin CIRQA launch at One Flow feel particularly relevant. The smart band isn’t simply tracking the experience; it becomes part of a more connected approach to everyday wellbeing and rest.
I left feeling energised, refreshed and – surprisingly – a little more convinced about the cold-plunge phenomenon.
Perhaps that is the appeal of One Flow Cape Town. It isn’t asking you to choose between yoga, fitness, recovery or socialising. It brings them all together.
And with the Garmin CIRQA adding a layer of insight to the experience, it is a reminder that wellness doesn’t necessarily mean doing more. Sometimes, it means understanding your body a little better.
Hot, cold, active or slow – perhaps the real goal isn’t simply doing more. It’s learning how to feel better.
