It’s time to replace the adage: “an apple a day, keeps the doctor away” with one of the creamiest fruits on the planet, avocado.
Avocado lovers will have new bragging rights following a new study which suggests a serving each day could take your health to new heights.
The study found that while this creamy fruit contains plenty of fats, it does not have an impact on belly fats, so eat up! Additionally, it offers the benefit of slightly decreasing LDL cholesterol levels (bad cholesterol).
Research published in the Journal of the American Heart Association found that participants who enjoyed a large avocado daily also enjoyed a healthier diet overall.
The 1008-person trial took place over six months with half of the participants having higher abdominal fat. Participants who consumed avocados every day were chosen at random while the other half were instructed to continue their regular diet.
The big takeaway? Avocado lovers can revel in the fact that their favourite fruit has a hand in lowering cholesterol and contributing to a healthier diet. Viva Avocado!
