A South African-founded digital parenting platform is gaining global recognition after being selected for a prestigious international health innovation programme. Parent Sense, created by parenting expert Meg Faure, has been chosen to join the 2026 Innovation Hub Fellowship at the Thrive Center at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
Faure, alongside chief operating officer Tové de Chazal Gant, recently travelled to the United States to participate in the three-month fellowship. The programme brings together global innovators working to reshape maternal and early childhood healthcare systems through technology and research-driven solutions.
The fellowship offers start-ups access to product development support, global networks and market opportunities, positioning Parent Sense among a cohort of organisations focused on improving outcomes for families worldwide.
Speaking on the opportunity, Faure emphasised the need for bold thinking in healthcare innovation. She noted that improving maternal and early childhood well-being requires both scientific evidence and innovative approaches, adding that platforms like Parent Sense aim to bridge gaps in systems that often fail families.
Since its launch, Parent Sense has evolved into a trusted digital resource for parents navigating pregnancy and early childhood. The platform combines medical expertise, developmental science and technology to provide personalised guidance on infant health, sleep, feeding and parental well-being. Through its mobile app, digital courses and AI-powered tools, it supports families during the crucial first 1 000 days of a child’s life.
In South Africa, Parent Sense has partnered with major medical aids, including Discovery Health, Momentum Health and Medihelp, helping thousands of parents access reliable, evidence-based support.
The early years of a child’s life are widely recognised as critical for long-term development and family well-being. By offering accessible, culturally adaptable digital solutions, Parent Sense aims to strengthen preventative healthcare and empower parents at scale.
Participation in the fellowship marks a significant step in the platform’s global expansion, reinforcing South Africa’s growing role in digital health innovation.
