The authorised autobiography, titled Benni, is co-authored with veteran football writer Mark Gleeson and published by Pan Macmillan South Africa, with a release scheduled for 1 February 2026.
The book includes a foreword by José Mourinho and promises an unfiltered narrative of success, racism and personal sacrifice.
Gleeson, who followed Benni McCarthy’s career from his teens, says the writing process revealed layers behind public headlines and clarified the former striker’s complex relationship with Bafana Bafana.
The book aims to show how talent coupled with relentless work can alter a life and inspire communities.
Preorders are open through Pan Macmillan and details and cover art are available on the publisher’s site. Fans and readers will find a reflective, human account that places McCarthy’s trophies within a broader story of perseverance.
