From a dog-friendly delight and an evening filled with ‘royale’ treatment to belting it out alongside the ultimate ’80s romantic dance classic, it’s safe to say there’s a jam-packed line-up in store at The Galileo Open Air Cinema this week.

23 October: The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel – Royale
For a touch of added luxury, The Galileo invites film fanatics to skip the picnic prep and step into an intimate evening of gourmet indulgence with the return of the Royale experience.
Your ticket includes a canapé and welcome drink on arrival, a 60g popcorn per person and a chef-curated main course. Plus all the usual Galileo charm, of course: scrumptious snacks, barista coffee, fun giveaways, dreamy photo ops and a snuggly movie screening complete with a blanket and backrest for added comfort.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is a 2011 British comedy-drama film featuring an ensemble cast consisting of Dev Patel, Judi Drench, Celia Imrie, Bill Nighy, Ronald Pickup, Maggie Smith, Tom Wilkinson and Penelope Wilton.
Some British retirees decide to outsource their retirement to exotic – and less expensive – India. Lured by advertisements for the newly restored Marigold Hotel and imagining a life of leisure in lush surroundings, they arrive and find that the Marigold is actually a shell of its former self.
Though their new home is not quite what they had imagined, the retirees find that life and love can begin again when they let go of their pasts.

24 October: Secret Life of Pets – Dog-friendly show
Friday night is going to the dogs, in the best way possible. This dog-friendly screening invites you and your furry bestie to snuggle up under the stars. Expect lawn games, delicious bites (for both you and your VID – Very Important Dog) and plenty of tail wags.

The Secret Life of Pets is a 2016 American animated comedy film distributed by Universal Pictures and starring an ensemble of film star voices.
Max is a spoiled terrior who enjoys a comfortable life in a New York building until his owner adopts Duke, a giant and unruly canine. During their walk outside, they encounter a group of ferocious alley cats and wind up in a truck that’s bound for the pound. Luckily, a rebellious bunny named Snowball swoops in to save the doggy duo from captivity.
In exchange, Snowball demands that Max and Duke join his gang of abandoned pets on a mission against the humans who’ve done them wrong.

25 October: Dirty Dancing
Dirty Dancing is a 1987 romantic-drama dance film starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey.
Baby (Grey) is one listless summer away from the Peace Corps. Hoping to enjoy her youth while it lasts, she’s disappointed when her summer plans deposit her at a sleepy resort in the Catskills with her parents.
Her luck turns around, however, when the resort’s dance instructor, Johnny (Swayze), enlists Baby as his new partner, and the two fall in love. Baby’s father forbids her from seeing Johnny, but she’s determined to help him perform the last big dance of the summer.
