Traffic jams usually test patience — unless they come with hooves and horns.
A herd of eland recently brought traffic to a standstill on a narrow Cape of Good Hope road, drawing smiles from visitors, reports Cape {town} Etc.
The moment, captured by Shagon Charles and shared by SANParks, shows the animals calmly crossing the reserve road.
‘Now this is a roadblock we don’t mind,’ SANParks wrote, thanking Charles for capturing the scene.
The sighting not only offered onlookers an intimate encounter with nature but also underlines how wildlife and people still share space at Table Mountain National Park.
Conservation officials say such encounters are reminders to respect animal behaviour and follow park rules. To avoid stressing wildlife, SANParks says visitors should remain inside their vehicles unless instructed otherwise.
