American streamer iShowSpeed filmed a live shark-cage dive off Gansbaai that quickly went viral after an unexpected moment on camera, reports Cape {town} Etc.
The YouTube clip shows the streamer entering the water in a professional cage as great white sharks circled nearby.
During the organised dive, iShowSpeed reacted with loud barking noises when a shark swam close to the cage.
The outing formed part of the streamer’s sponsored ‘Speed Does Africa’ tour, a month-long series of travel streams and fan events that began at the end of December. Local operators ran the dive with a trained crew and underwater cameras to capture the experience (The South African).
Fans praised the humour and spontaneity in the clip. Others used the moment to discuss streamer culture and online fame. The broadcast underlined why the creator draws large live audiences with unpredictable, high-energy content.
Gansbaai is a major destination for cage diving with great whites. Operators in the area offer guided trips and strict safety protocols for visitors who want a close view of the sharks.
