Presented by Food Lover’s Market, the Knysna Oyster Festival in partnership with South African National Parks (SANParks) is back with a packed line-up of culinary delights, competitions and entertainment, taking place from 4 to 13 July.
This year’s theme, ‘It’s time to come out of your shell’, sets the tone for what promises to be a vibrant celebration of food, sport and culture. Running from 4 to 13 July

Conservation meets celebration
SANParks’ involvement highlights the festival’s commitment to environmental responsibility, underlining the organisation’s dedication to Vision 2040, which is a long-term strategy centred on conservation excellence, inclusive access, community empowerment, and regenerative tourism.
By aligning with the Knysna Oyster Festival, SANParks aims to highlight the natural splendour and ecological significance of the Garden Route National Park while fostering deeper connections between people and nature. The festival serves as more than just a culinary celebration, as it’s a platform to demonstrate how sustainable tourism, cultural exchange and environmental stewardship can work hand in hand.
So, while indulging in fresh oysters and fine wines, attendees will also leave with a deeper appreciation for the Garden Route’s fragile ecosystems and the importance of travelling responsibly. It’s a celebration of flavour, community and the wild places that make South Africa extraordinary.
