Chocolate lovers in the Western Cape can expect a sweeter-than-usual Easter weekend, as Lindt South Africa rolls out a series of Gold Bunny Hunt pop-up experiences designed to blend family fun with indulgence.
This Friday and Saturday, the Swiss chocolatier will host immersive, family-friendly activations across select venues in Cape Town and Johannesburg, inviting visitors into interactive spaces centred around its iconic Gold Bunny.
In the Western Cape, the experiences will take place at Vrymansfontein Wine Estate on Friday, 3 April, followed by Lourensford Wine Estate on Saturday, 4 April. A third activation is scheduled for Johannesburg at Prison Break Market on Saturday.
The pop-ups centre around a themed Easter ‘treasure hunt‘, where guests can search for hidden Lindt Gold Bunnies scattered across each venue. The concept leans into experiential retail, a growing trend where brands create interactive environments rather than traditional shopping spaces.
Beyond the hunt itself, attendees can expect a mix of games and activities for both children and adults, along with a curated selection of Lindt chocolate offerings – an Easter experience enhanced by the scenic backdrop of Cape wine estates and the bustling, open-air market atmosphere in Johannesburg.

Lindt South Africa says the initiative is about more than seasonal treats.
‘Easter is one of our most cherished moments in the calendar, and this year we wanted to create something truly memorable for South African families,’ said Matt Dees, senior brand manager at Lindt South Africa.
‘The Gold Bunny Hunt pop-ups are about more than chocolate; they’re about bringing people together through joy, discovery, and shared experiences.’
The campaign reflects a broader shift in how global brands engage local audiences, particularly during high-traffic holiday periods like Easter. Similar pop-up activations have gained traction in recent years, offering consumers a mix of entertainment and brand interaction in outdoor, lifestyle-focused settings.
Founded in 1845, Lindt & Sprüngli has built its reputation on premium chocolate craftsmanship, with its Gold Bunny becoming one of the brand’s most recognisable Easter symbols worldwide.
With the long weekend approaching, the Gold Bunny Hunt is likely to draw families looking for outdoor activities that combine leisure, food and a touch of novelty, especially in destinations already popular for day outings.
