Son of Memphis and Norma, little sweet Emperor penguin Mumble has a big problem: while he can tap dance brilliantly, he can’t sing a single note. In a world where everyone needs a heart song to attract a soul mate, Mumble feels he doesn’t belong there.
Ostracised by his elders, Mumble embarks on a journey with a group of cool Adelie penguins, the Amigos, to find the real reason for their disappearing fish supply, ultimately discovering humans are overfishing and using his unique dancing to communicate with them and save his colony

Posing as a substitute music teacher at an elite private elementary school, he exposes his students to the hard rock gods he idolises and emulates – much to the consternation of the uptight principal (Cusack).

Set after the events of the first film, the story is interwoven with the present, in which Sophie (Seyfried) plans to reopen her late mother Donna’s (Streep) hotel in Greece, and flashbacks to Donna’s youth in 1979, when she journeyed across Europe after college and met the three men who are Sophie’s fathers.
