The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway has reached a significant milestone, welcoming its 33 millionth visitor today (Monday), just as the festive month of December kicks off, reports Cape {town} Etc.
The landmark occasion was marked by a joyful surprise for the milestone guests, Ofentse Huma and Thabiso Letsoalo, who were greeted at the Lower Cable Station with a special gift hamper, reflecting the appreciation of the iconic establishment for their continued patronage.
Since its opening in 1929, the cable car has been an essential feature of Cape Town’s landscape, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and ocean.
Every year, thousands of visitors are drawn to the dramatic vistas that only a ride to the top of Table Mountain can provide.
‘Today (Monday), we proudly welcomed our 33 millionth visitors.
‘It is such an incredible milestone as we kick off the December festive season. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to every guest who continues to make Table Mountain a cherished destination in their travels,’ the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway said on Facebook.
The cableway itself has undergone numerous improvements over the decades, maintaining its relevance as a modern entertainment option while preserving the natural beauty and cultural significance of Table Mountain.
