Colour theory states that red signifies desire, passion, energy and love. These emotions couldn’t be more true than when experiencing the red-hot-love-themed Week of Love at The Galileo Open Air Cinema, where screenings of your favourite romantic, comedic and sing-along films take centre stage.
From Kirstenbosch to Somerset West, get ready for a stunning night under the stars as The Galileo celebrates love in all its forms, from romance and friendship to self-love and meaningful connections.
Whether you’re planning a romantic date night, a Galentine’s celebration, a fun evening out with friends and family, or just some me-time, The Galileo offers a movie experience for every kind of love.

A gift to you: A curated bouquet of films
Wednesday, 11 February: Eat Pray Love | Kirstenbosch Garden
A soulful journey of self-discovery and personal growth, Eat Pray Love is a gentle reminder that one of the most important relationships we have is the one with ourselves.
Galileo favourite Julia Roberts gives a defining performance about introspection, laughter and inspiration, best enjoyed with a picnic under the night sky.

Thursday, 12 February: Bridesmaids | Kirstenbosch Garden
A bold and hilarious celebration of friendship, Bridesmaids explores loyalty, forgiveness and the beautifully chaotic nature of close friendships.
With a hilarious ensemble cast of female comedic titans, including Kirsten Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Rebel Wilson, Rose Byrne and more, it’s perfect for friends and family looking to share laughs and unforgettable moments.

Friday, 13 February: Mamma Mia! | Kirstenbosch Garden (Grab the gals!)
Grab the gals for Galentine’s Day and the screening of the joyful, sing-along favourite Mamma Mia!
As a feel-good celebration of love, family and friendship, bursting with ABBA hits and infectious energy delivered by Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan and more, it’s easy to see why it’s been a Galileo classic for many years. This is not to be missed!

Saturday, 14 February: Crazy, Stupid, Love | Kirstenbosch & Lourensford (Valentine’s Day double show!)
The Galileo is hosting two simultaneous Special Valentine’s Shows on Saturday, 14 February, to allow more guests to spoil their significant other at the most popular show of the season.
Choose between Kirstenbosch Garden, right on the slopes of Table Mountain, or Lourensford Wine Estate in the heart of Somerset West’s winelands.

Pack a picnic, grab your loved ones, and prepare for a night of love and laughter. Both special show venues will have various food options (including halaal and vegetarian), from pizza, burgers and nachos to popcorn, sweets and coffee.
To keep romance in the air, enjoy pre-movie live music entertainment from renowned saxophonists, and be welcomed with a glass of Cap Classique bubbly by Villiera Wines or a refreshing Sir Fruit juice. A Chuckles® malted puffs in milk chocolate bar, and a red silk rose from the talented florists at Bunches for Africa, also await.
